After an automatic update, Internet explorer won’t open…?
I have the Windows XP program, and after an automatic update, my computer turned off and then restarted. Some things seem to be updating, but my Internet will not open. I’m using a different computer right now, but I need mine back soon. Could someone who is more knoweldgable with computers than I am please explain to me what the problem is and give me some suggestions on how to make the Internet work again?
Yep, happened to me, too. Are you running a version of the Zonealarm firewall? If so, here’s how you fix it:
1. Go to Start –> Settings –> Control Panel –> Add/Remove Programs
2. It may take a few seconds to populate the screen. At the top, turn on the checkbox labeled “Show updates”
3. Probably at the bottom, you’ll find “Security update for Windows (KB951748)”. Click Remove and reboot.
