The basic difference between Plasma and LCD HD TV is that the former uses inert gas and the latter crystals. Plasma uses an inert gas to give you that brighter than life picture. LCD uses a series of minature mirrors to constantly realign the resolution of the image. Plasma has to be refilled every 10 years of use. LCD’s will eventually attain the brighter pictures that plasmas currently have. The difference between the two is moving parts and brightness.
